Okay, I loved it at the end when you tried to put into words what your future old(er) lady style would be, and they're both amazing! Meagan's arty-creative look, quirky but pulled together, a hint of earthiness but with vintage and retro vibes with lots of dresses and skirts and pops of color; Sarah's professor/writer lefty coastal California look, with witchy grey hair, glasses breezy or chunky Garnet Hill sweaters, jeans, and cool sneakers! You need to do a fashion show.
My goal is to wear more dresses this summer, and I bought two this week. :) I wear a lightweight Carhartt jacket over dresses, which is cute, and basically a different version of a denim jacket. But sometimes you need an extra layer!
That sounds like a very cute look, Stacy! I have a light-weight sort of barn coat that I love (either LL Bean or Lands End, I always mix those two up), but have never thought of wearing it over a dress! Great idea. Sort of like a blazer but casual.
I got one in 5” and one in 7”. I wear the longer ones more because I just like the extra bit of coverage, but the 5” is nice to have for when I’m wearing shorter sundresses or if I’m more worried about riding up. I also think they might be handy to wear under pants with irritating inseams.
I would love to see you both work with Lindsay at FashionFixMN. She is a fantastic resource for exactly what you touched on in this episode. Understanding your body shape and how to dress for it, identifying your style, editing your wardrobe, styling your existing clothes, etc. Ive been working with her for several years and love her approach. One of my favourite content creators along with you two ❤️
Enjoyed this episode and just read a NYT article about in a similar topic on dressing. The picture captions mentioned a Shacket twice! The second time I saw the word I decided it wasn’t a misprint. It’s a shirt + jacket so when you talked about the jean jacket, I thought maybe you needed to add a Shacket layer. lol. Thanks!
Yes, I have two Shackets! They are pretty casual though - at least the ones I have feel more like layers I'd wear camping or sitting around a fall bonfire or something. I know Sarah (and our friend Christine Koh!) both have raved about a J Crew sweater blazer that is less structured than a regular blazer but dressier than a regular cardigan...
Excited to hear this episode (but also feeling a bit trepidatious because I have wardrobe anxiety...)!
Ohhh, Emma, I hope we don't add to it (spoiler: we don't know what we're doing)

Curious to know what length of the Thigh Society cooling shorts you would recommend. Im about to pull the trigger for summer!
